23 Apr 2012April 14th we had the yearly Marathon here in Rotterdam. Anyone who wanted to participate could participate either as in individual or as part of a company or team.
This event locks downs or changes the entire upper-ground public transportation and fills up all the subways to the point of suffocation, but everybody is happy watching other people run and reach their goal.
While I had no banner I did make an attempt to follow my friend as she participated in the 10 kilometer recreational run. This coincided with timing how long it takes her from get to one point to the next and then taking the subway to her next stop before she reaches that same point (which also makes it a fun event for the non-runners).
Are you a female and also want to run? There is an option this June 10th:
By visiting the website of the Ladies Run: http://www.ladiesrun.nl/home, you can subscribe and run! Make sure you tell your friends and family or just write something in the comment section and who knows I might come with a banner, I will cheer you on and give you water, but unfortunately running is not my thing… I’ll take the subway.
