Campus in progress

The campus nowadays looks like a bad jungle movie mixed with that sandy level in Mario on the very first NINTENDO (minus beautiful trees and animals, but you understand me). With all the construction taking place and all the horrible drilling sounds during class, all we can hope for is an amazing final result.

Everyday we can see stuff being removed. Just last month they removed the “The eggs of Hans Petri”. This was an art piece consisting of a couple of egg-shaped objects. Even though these eggs were a so-called trade-mark of the campus, they too had to make way for the renovations…

These eggs, made from triplex, wire and concrete drain, were placed on campus nearly 40 years ago, and soon became a place lots of students took pictures.

Although they were restored in 1988 and 2003, the question concerning which removed art work will make it back to the new campus still remains. According to sources, people spoke about creating a replica, but Mr. Hans Petri’s inheritors, do not feel the need to do so.

Below you can view some videos of the removal:

And not to worry my fellow students the new campus looks promising and we will enjoy it! (That is if you are still on campus around mid 2013). If you look at the video below you will feel a lot better about taking the longer path to your classes.

The campus wasn’t always this ugly! (If I may say so, it is not a person so it can be ugly right?) All the sand in your eyes, screaming when trying to communicate, walking too far for coffee and just being plain depressed when looking at the construction… will end!

I myself might just fail some exams just to experience at least a year of the new campus (sorry mom).
