When I was a student, Rotterdam boasted its very own Erasmusica symphony orchestra. I have blogged about students and music before, and about the gap there is in Rotterdam’s cultural scene since the demise of that student orchestra. How pleased I was to meet the respresentatives of the Rotterdam youth symphony orchestra yesterday. Under their guidance, if all goes well a new orchestra will see the light in the next few months. This is great news indeed. Students: if you play an instrument and would like to play in an orchestra: sign up!
