sustainable real estate

At the monthly meeting of the executive board and deans today, we discussed and approved the new sustainability policy related to real estate. Another step forward on our journey to become one of the most sustainable university campuses in The Netherlands. The comprehensive policy covers such matters as energy, the environment, waste management, water usage, materials, living and working environment, mobility, procurement and nutrition. Step by step, we are learning what it takes to develop a sustainable campus. Along with our other initiatives (fair trade campaign, Rotterdam Climate Initiative, Sustainable procurement covenant and agreements with the Ministry of Housing for energy efficiency) I believe we are now well underway. The CvB and deans are very committed to seeing these initiatives through. Please spread the word and join the effort if you can.
