Rotary Peace Fellowships

The Rotary Peace Centers of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is currently recruiting for applicants for the 2014 Rotary Peace Fellowship. Applications are due 1 July 2013.

Over the past ten years, Rotary Peace Centers has provided over 700 future peace leaders with peace and conflict resolution education and field experience. Our alumni work all over the world with organization ranging from grassroots peace initiatives in Africa to the United Nations.

In an effort to reach out to more qualified candidates all over the world, Rotary is reaching out peace-related organizations and asking them to post our fellowship opportunity to their listserves or newsletters. Below is a short description of the fellowship:


Course aim

Media and development. The one can’t do without the other. And yet media and development are two different worlds, each with their own language, culture and way of working.

This new RNTC course gives the NGO development specialist that extra bit of media knowledge he or she needs to increase the impact of using media for development. The course will train you in the strategic and practical use of media for development and give you an understanding of how local media work.

Course dates in 2013 and 2014:

16 – 27 September 2013
RNTC application deadline: 1 August 2013
NFP (fellowship) applications: 1 December 2012 – 5 February 2013
Type of Diploma: Certificate

12 – 23 May 2014
RNTC application deadline: 1 April 2014

The Institute for War and Peace Reporting and the Wayamo Communication Foundation proudly announce the launch of ReportingKenya.net, a new online platform for Kenyan journalists.

ReportingKenya.net will provide local and international audiences with credible, impartial information on emerging developments concerning domestic justice issues and the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

A Facebook page has also been developed.

On 25 January 2013, the Netherlands Helsinki Committee will organise a Conference on the Future of Human Rights in Europe.

On 16 November 2012, the ISS organised – in collaboration with the Dutch Foundation for Peace Sciences and IKV Pax Christi – the “Visions of Peace” Symposium.

Following this Symposium, the keynote speaker, Professor Mansoob Murshed, was interviewed by well-known human rights advocate and blogger, Adri Nieuwhof.
