Conference on International Cooperation in Human Rights and the Chinese Perspective

On 22-23 October 2016, ISS professor Karin Arts participated in a large Conference on ‘International Cooperation in Human Rights and the Chinese Perspective’ in Beijing, organized by the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

China2Her well-received presentation on ‘China and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child’ was based on the documents generated in the latest round of China’s state reporting to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and on the data on China in the KidsRights index.

The Conference was an excellent opportunity to renew contact with ISS alumna (diploma in International Law and organization for Development) Prof. Zhua Xiaqing (left in the picture, and currently working on China and the UN) and to get to know Prof. Jiang Ziahong (right in the picture and currently working among others on human rights in EU trade policy).China1
