CYS related vacancies

There is a range of interesting children and youth studies related vacancies currently advertised (in no particular order):

*The ‘Child Studies Program’ at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies at Carleton University (Canada) offers a ‘Child Studies Position‘, which is tenure-track position at Assistant Professor level. It asks for: ‘research interests and expertise must focus on marginalized and vulnerable communities with a specialization in social cultural issues such as health sustainability, poverty, education and/or transnational policies.  A demonstrated interdisciplinary and critical approach to child studies frameworks in both their teaching and research is required.’

*The ‘Society for Research in Child Development’ (Washington DC) offers fellowships to researchers.  The fellowships are advertised as having the following goals: ‘(1) to contribute to the effective use of scientific knowledge about child development in the formation of public policy ; (2) to educate the scientific community about the development of public policy; and (3) to establish a more effective liaison between developmental scientists and the Federal policy-making mechanisms.’

*The Communication and Media Research Institute, School of Media, Arts and Design of University of Westminster (UK) offers a funded three year PhD studentship exploring ‘Definitions of childhood in the Arab World and their Implications for Screen-Based Media’.

*The centre of development studies at the University of Bath (UK) offers a position of lecturer/senior lecturer in international development. One of the three research clusters at the Centre is the one on: ‘Childhood, youth, and the life course’, hence, children and youth studies people may have an advantage.
